Today we viewed the students' projects on The Odyssey and Ulysses. We also started an essay that is following.
Educators often debate what teaching method will result in greater understanding of subject matter by high school students. Some educators think that class discussion results in greater understanding because it encourages students to thoroughly examine ideas from many perspectives. Other educators advocate for assigning individual projects that require students to identify and solve problems independently because applying what they know to a problem will contribute to deeper understanding. In your opinion, what teaching method will result in greater understanding of subject matter by high school students?

We will also be having a short test on independent and subordinate clauses and conjunctions on Friday.

  1. Mrs. Arteaga's opinion....No one shoe fits all. What is most important is knowing which shoe fits you best and wear it! That means if you benefit from an interactive environment - get involved, raise your hand, participate! If you do better on your own, then take time to dive into something in your own unique way. Cool blog Mr. Annen. I used it to pick out what e-book for my ipod (free from your library!) to get for spring break. I'll start Midsummer Nights Dream.
