ANIMAL FARM - RESPOND
This is an informal way for you to simply tell me what you think of Animal Farm. Type up a coherent response and use examples. It's not a grade or a reflection on you personally, but I want to get an idea of what you thought of the book and the ideas hidden in it. Also, say which days before school over the next week and a half would work to meet for half hour to eat and discuss the book together :)

ReplyDeleteAlright, just thought I should test my ability to comment this time BEFORE I write a paragraph. Anyway, in short Animal Farm was a decent book that Orwell wrote that reflected the world he lived in and how dictators were rising, and totalitarian governments, fascism, and communism were spreading. Obviously, Orwell wasn't a big fan of any of these, and Animal Farm was a witty way to convey his opinion by portraying people as animals. Especially pigs.

ReplyDeleteAnimal Farm was a good read, putting the problems of the world after WWII into simple setting. It showed how corrupt communism was to Orwell. It involved all the elements of a treacherous government; lying, cheating, propaganda, murder, and cover-up. Poor Clover.

Animal Farm was a decent book that reflected on a corrupt government. It also showed how easy it to manipulate people or animals in this case, that are not very smart. The pigs who were the smartest animals on the farm were able to manipulate the thoughts of all the other animals even if the ideas they came up with seemed almost impossible to do. Anyday will work for me.
ReplyDeleteI really liked "Animal Farm". It showed how the ideas of Old Major (Karl Marx) were blown up into one big philosophy and government: Animalism (Communism). Then over time, everything was distorted by Napoleon (Stalin). The Commandments were changed, “The Beasts of England” was banned, and historical events were altered. It was all just to suit Napoleon and the rest of the pigs. Overall, I thought the book was pretty good. Almost any time after school is good for me, but I think I have a German Club meeting this week. I’ll have to ask Herr Orange about it though.
